The most common reason for marital unhappiness isn’t sex.

It isn’t money.

It isn’t even parenting.

It’s chores.

This is the finding in Sheila and Keith Gregoire’s book The Marriage You Want. Their survey of couples found that “lack of teamwork is the primary reason why people’s marital satisfaction goes down over time”, especially women’s.

Today we’ll cover Chapters 5 and 6 on Responsibility: The Partnership You Want and The Dependability You Want. Read on for today’s content:

  • A summary of Chapters 5 & 6

  • Research from Emily Nagoski on caretaking and sexual desire

  • A Mind-Body Path Practice for mapping the connection between teamwork and sexual desire in your marriage

  • Questions for personal reflection and our discussion
